It was these developments in the field of metallurgy that allowed for more widespread use of stainless today. Through this type of science, manufacturers are able to further refine this unique alloy and other types of alloys to meet the needs of various industries, and stainless is used for many industrial purposes, such as oil and natural gas pipelines and refinery equipment, mining, energy production, nuclear power generation, and commercial and household food preparation.
